2002.06.23 - 'Dog of the year 2002' competition - Roudnice (CZ)

On Sunday morning took place, probably, one of the most interesting CzW dog shows. What makes it different from other shows? Mainly rules. There is no split into classes, all dogs are splitted only based on gender.

JOLLY z Molu Es & JERRY LEE z Molu Es

Dogs are assessed by three independent judges. This year the judges were: breed supervisor Monika Soukupova, judge Anna Simackova and "founder" of the breed - Karel Hartl (all three are of course also CzW breeders of many years' standing). Each of them made assessements separately. The dogs were presented in all possible ways: in static (it was not easy to well present the dog during such heat), during movement: in trot, on a triangle, and in slow motion. Nothing could hide from vigilant judges' eyes.

Males went over the top first (7 dogs). The field was relatively on high level but every dog represented different CzW type. The judges were unanimous concerning the first place: the best exterior has "Wolf" (nickname), that is JERRY LEE z Molu Es and he should be "Dog of the year 2002".

Judges' deliberation lasted for quite long - few dogs had similar amount of points and the judges had to decide how the final results should look like.

It was time for female CzWs - 8 of them appeared. Here the judges had even more difficult task - the field was very even and on high level. In principle almost all dogs didn't have any serious faults - details and judge's preferences decided about the placement. Unanimously, three times in a row, the first place came to "Wolf's" sister - JOLLY z Molu Es which also received the title "Bitch of the year 2002".

Additionaly the judges choosed "Puppy of the year" (Nero z Molu Es) and "Best Veteran" (Canis z Molu Es). Thanks to the points obtained on this dog show (+ points from championship), Alan ze Smaragovych vodopadu became "The most versatile CzW of the year 2002". There were lots of prizes for the winners: cups for best male and female dogs, bags of dry food for 5 best dogs in both classes from the main sponsor and commemorative diplomas for all participants.

The dog show proceeded in unstressful but hot (literally) atmosphere. Owners and dogs, like always, had a great fun....
